Gigapeak is a Hope Valley owned and run Internet Service Provider that does business differently.
We focus on putting the environment and community before shareholder profits, as proved by our Carbon Positive Pledge.
We work with local farms and businesses to build a high speed and fully sustainable internet delivery system. To expand our network, we do so in a positive way for the environment.
We operate primarily in the Hope Valley, Derbyshire. We service: Aston, Bamford, Bradwell, Brough, Castleton, Hathersage, Hope, Grindleford, Leam, Offerton, Thornhill and adjacent hillsides.
If you live outside of the areas we have listed, get in touch with us and we will be able to give you a definitive answer if we can service you.
Gigapeak started when at group of friendly geeks who happen to be obsessed with the outdoors realised that delivering a fast and reliable internet service in the Peak District would be much more fun than their day jobs building networks for big businesses in the city.
Our combined experience in Internet technologies, software development and working at height matched with a good understanding of the local landscapes, presented an opportunity to leverage government funding focused on connecting rural communities. We have built an advanced network to deliver high speed services in a lean, sustainable and efficient way.
Being a small team, we maximise the value of technology to automate tasks and simplify process. Ensuring we can move faster than our competition whilst delivering a powerful service that solves people's problems.
Gigapeak is privately owned, shareholder value is replaced with community and wildlife value. Rather than how can we return value to our shareholders, how can we return value to our customers and the environment.
Whilst we are busy growing the broadband network to ensure we connect the most remote locations, we are also working on a raft of new services, unique to The Peak District which will change the way we interact with this amazing landscape in an awesome way.
